Content Strategist – GamingOculus | Menlo Park, CA
As a member of the Oculus Strategic Content team, you work with the most progressive game developers in the world to bring new titles to our platforms like Oculus Quest. You’re observant on game and genre trends which hold promise for virtual and augmented realities. You have a compelling vision for where the games industry is headed and work closely with developers and publishers to deliver awesome experiences for VR consumers.
You believe deeply in the value of VR as a new medium for immersive gaming experiences. You’re observant and versed on what makes VR game design and development different. You have a great eye to identify the right partner fits from the development community. You thrive in (re)connecting with the world’s best game developers to land an ongoing stream of high-profile game releases on the Oculus Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Oculus at key game industry events (GDC, PAX, E3, Gamescom, etc.) by engaging our partners and new prospects face-to-face
  • Be the primary point of contact between Oculus and new developer prospects, through activities such as organizing meet-ups, giving talks, and engaging developers through online channels
  • Negotiate terms with partners, exceed the expectations of consumers, and the increase the attractiveness of the VR developer ecosystem
  • Identify and highlight emerging market trends as backing for strategic content investments
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing and potential partners
  • Evolve and deliver partnership narrative and platform advantage messages
  • Advocate for developers by organizing, validating, and representing their needs to internal Oculus Store and Product teams
  • Perform expert business intelligence gathering on marketplace movements activities (products, platforms, publishers, titles) to influence content strategy
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree
  • 4+ years of working experience in games industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated maturity in working with cross-functional groups to force multiply and achieve success as a key member of a fast moving team
  • A charismatic demeanor and ability to develop a crisp theme around the reasons VR should be a game medium developers target for new content
  • Deep knowledge of the games industry and Oculus’s value proposition to partners and consumers
  • Ability to structure, negotiate, and maintain significant and complex strategic relationships
  • Outstanding negotiation and executive-level communication skills
  • Familiarity with game development and publishing best practices, trends, terms & conditions
  • Superior relationship-building skills, including the ability to work with multiple cultures
  • Knowledge of digital gaming landscape, including solid understanding of digital game distribution technologies
  • Familiarity with various gaming consoles and their content offerings
  • Experience with IP licensing, media production and development, and market analysis and research
  • Proven strategic planner with the ability to balance and prioritize short-term solutions while keeping the long-term vision in mind
  • Content partnerships experience
